North Cyprus Weather & Climate
With over 300 days of sunshine all year round, North Cyprus reflects an extreme Mediterranean climate with long, hot and dry summers, relatively cold and rainfalls between December and January. Summer on the island is typically a season of hot weather with high temperatures and clear blue cloudless sky. The most pleasant sea breeze at these times make the atmosphere in coastal areas such as Kyrenia, most very relaxing.
With temperatures reaching as high as 34°C to 40°C, the hottest months in summer are between mid-May and mid-September with an average of 11 hours uninterrupted sunshine daily. During this time, light clothing and dresses would suffice. On the other hand, the coldest months drop down to as low as 7°C to 15°C in winter. The winters are quite mild with some rains and occasional quick melting snow falls on the Kyrenia Mountain range, a stunning sight to behold. But even in winter, you would still enjoy up to 6 hours of sunshine during daytime. Light jackets and pullovers are recommended during winters in North Cyprus. So generally, the weather and climate conditions here in North Cyprus provides the visitors a truly pleasant holiday all year round.
